Dejiang joined CPP in November of 2007. His focus is structural and cladding wind loads and pedestrian-level wind studies. Before joining CPP, Dejiang worked as a project engineer briefly in another wind engineering consulting company.
Dejiang obtained his PhD in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University in August 2007. At Texas Tech, he designed and performed a wind tunnel simulation study of wave effects on wind over the ocean. He also conducted and analyzed several wind tunnel tests of building and structures and gained extensive skills in test instruments and techniques. He holds an MS in Fluid Mechanics from Xi’an Jiaotong University in China and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the same university.
Dejiang was a Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering at Shantou University in China before he came to the U.S. to purse his PhD. At Shantou University, he was involved in numerous industrial projects for buildings and structures and several research projects.
