Meet us in St. Louis at 2016 ASHRAE Conference

Meet me in St Louis 2016 ASHRAE ConferenceThe 2016 ASHRAE Conference will be hosted in St. Louis with a kick off at the Missouri History Museum.  Between the technical presentations, tours and networking events, this is the leading event for ASHRAE members and technical experts around the globe.

The technical sessions offer an excellent opportunity to learn the results of cutting edge research and the latest standards that affect the built environment.  Join CPP’s Dr. Ron Petersen for the Technical Paper Session, “Simplified Procedure for Calculating Exhaust/Intake Separation”.  The purpose of this research project, which is sponsored by the ASHRAE Technical Committee, is to discuss a new procedure for calculating the minimum distance required between the outlet of an exhaust system and the outdoor air intake to a ventilation system to avoid re-entrainment of exhaust gases. The new method is more accurate than the existing as it accounts for important variables: stack height, wind speed and hidden versus visible intakes. It also includes procedures for addressing heated exhaust, louvered exhaust, capped heated exhaust and horizontal exhaust that is pointed away from the intake. This method will most likely be adopted in the next version of Standard 62.1, be sure to join the discussion on Sunday, June 26th.

Also at this year’s conference, Dr. Petersen will be presented with the ASHRAE Distinguished Service Award.  This honor recognizes Dr. Petersen as a member who has served the Society faithfully and with distinction and given freely of his time and talent in chapter, regional and Society activities. The Award Presentation will be held Saturday, June 25th during the Plenary Session.
