
Company co-founder Dr. Jon Peterka has assumed the duties of CPP President. Dr. Peterka brings more than 35 years of wind engineering expertise and leadership to his new role.
Dr. Peterka has made significant contributions to wind engineering through his active involvement in many professional and technical organizations. A few of those organizations include the American Association for Wind Engineering, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the ASCE and many ASCE task committees. He is the current chairman of the ASCE Standards Committee, a position he has held since 1993.
Among the many awards Dr. Peterka has received are the ASCE Aerospace Science and Technology Award (1989), the Wind Engineering Research Council’s Outstanding Wind Engineering Research Award (1990), and the ASCE Raymond C. Reese Research Prize (1999). As a professor at CSU, Dr. Peterka received two awards for excellence in teaching. In 2006, he was named in the list of “Top 25 Newsmakers of the Year” by Engineering News-Record Magazine.
With Dr. Peterka’s acceptance of his new position, CPP co-founder and wind engineering pioneer Dr. Jack Cermak has assumed the role of CPP President Emeritus.
