Dr. Jon Peterka Receives the 2010 Jack E. Cermak Medal

For his long career dedicated to the advancement of wind engineering, through education, research, and application, CPP President Dr. Jon Peterka was awarded the 2010 Jack E. Cermak Medal by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
Among his other accolades are the ASCE Aerospace Science and Technology Award (1989), the Wind Engineering Research Council’s Outstanding Wind Engineering Research Award (1990), and the ASCE Raymond C. Reese Research Prize (1999). During his career as a professor at Colorado State University, he received two awards for excellence in teaching. In 2006, he was named in the “Top 25 Newsmakers of the Year” by Engineering News–Record Magazine.


Named for CPP co-founder and pioneer of wind engineering, Dr. Jack Cermak, the Jack E. Cermak Medal was established by the ASCE in 2000 to recognize “…cumulative distinguished contributions in wind engineering.” Read more about the Jack E. Cermak Medal.
