In 1975, CPP co-founder Dr. Jack Cermak offered the following definition, which was recently adopted by the International Association for Wind Engineering (IAWE):
"Wind engineering is best defined as the rational treatment of interactions between wind in the atmospheric boundary layer and man and his works on the surface of Earth."
Since 1981, CPP has applied and developed the techniques of wind engineering to improve the efficiency, safety, and comfort of buildings, structures, and their surroundings.
